It is a great honour and pride that Mopa Airport which was in the news was finally inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi among galaxy of people naming it as Manohar International Airport a deep tribute to his dear cabinet colleague and former CM of Goa (late) Manohar Parrikar.
Apart, prior to the inauguration there came another talk of suggesting name to the Mopa airport, writers, different political group people including present senior most and former politicians started suggesting name of the choice. When suggestion and naming was going on the CM had said that he has nothing to do, the naming will be decided by the Centre. After the inauguration, the CM briefed the national media that he had requested on the behalf of everyone with the centre to name the airport after “Manohar Bhai” and he was optimistic.
If the CM had honestly cleared the matter at that time, no doubt everyone would have accepted gracefully. Remaining silent left the suggestors in embarrassed.
