The pre-monsoon maintenance work of electricity department seems to be incomplete. At many locations, LED fixtures on electricity poles are lying in a neglected state. It would be appropriate to mention a few instances in this regard. Hanging LED fixtures in the vicinity of Shree Laxmi Narayan temple at Wadi-Talaulim and near Bhingi Farm House (also at Talaulim) are unattended. Further, some fixtures at the vehicular underpass at Kapileshwari junction are missing while some are out of order. Similarly, a hanging LED fixture along the main road in the vicinity of Shree Betal temple at Queula (also in Ponda) lie neglected. Further, some electricity poles do not carry electrical fixtures. One such instance is near Rajtilak Apartments at Khadpabandh and another adjacent to the Federal Bank near Rukmininagar. A misplaced LED fixture has been noticed in the vicinity of village panchayat of Borim and also along the Adpai jetty (also in Ponda) for quite a long time. Further at this particular jetty, two fixtures are missing and one is out of order. Also, creepers on electricity poles have not been cleared at these locations. It is equally important that the transformers at different locations in the state are provided with a proper locking system so that the door remains intact even when strong monsoon winds blow. This would assure safety to innocent pedestrians. Let us hope that the above defects are rectified in public interest.
