'One Nation One Election': Why it may not suit India

The Central Government is promoting synchronising the elections of MLAs and MPs as proposed under the concept of 'One Nation One Election'. I personally feel that this is not feasible and ill-advised to implement, as the priorities of states often differ significantly from those at the national level, shaped as they are by regional customs, socio-economic conditions and cultural contexts.

Imposing a common electoral cycle risks undermining the federal structure.

It has been reported that over the past three days Goa has recorded 371.2 mm of rainfall, the highest for the pre-monsoon period in the past decade.
