The recent order of the Supreme Court calling the AIFF to implement the draft constitution prepared by ex-SC judge regarding the holding of dual posts at the federation and state levels and giving the federation four weeks to implement it is music to the ears of the football fraternity.
Most state associations have office bearers both at the federation and state levels, and they are mostly from the political class who, as usual, want their fingers in every pie. This should likewise be applied to other sports which have office bearers both at the central and state levels.
The Supreme Court should suo moto give it serious thought so that better days are in store for Indian sports.
