Pakistan sympathisers in Goa

A shocking incident was reported recently in the Baga and Arpora areas of North Goa, where LED signboards flashed the message “Pakistan zindabad” at several businesses. The act shows a worrying lack of respect for law and public order. The motive behind these messages matters ” they could be the work of a few troublemakers, or part of a wider attempt to stir unrest.

The police acted quickly, which was necessary. Authorities must investigate fully to find who is responsible and why. People who spread slogans that provoke communal tension should be dealt with firmly and within the law. At the same time, the state must protect the rights and safety of all residents.

Goa cannot tolerate acts that threaten harmony. Alongside criminal investigations, local leaders and communities should work together to calm fears and prevent escalation. Education, dialogue and clear legal action are better tools than threats of violence.
