Panaji has turned into eyesore for tourists too

There is a damaged deck board lying  for months on Miramar beach  which is  frequented by thousands of tourists every day,  and which is yet to be cleared or repaired by the concerned authorities, making one wonder whether it is another tourist attraction or an exhibit of Panaji city's Smart City works. Secondly, most of Panaji's roads are dug up and barricaded, making it difficult for one to reach  his/her destination, without going round in circles due to closed roads and no entry signs. This has dissuaded people form driving into Panaji city as more than half the time is wasted on congested roads and one-way streets.  Little wonder that there is a steep fall in tourist numbers. I wonder which tourist would like to visit  a city that is  best described as a "war zone" and earthquake-ravaged. This is food for thought  that calls for a for a drastic makeover and not something to cry over spilt milk.
