It must be said that internet connectivity for students attending online classes may not be as serious an issue in the cities as it is in the villages. Students in the villages are hence forced to go up on the hills and in the forests in order to get internet connectivity. It is learnt that in order to provide relief from internet connectivity issues to students attending online classes, the Pilerne-Marra Village Panchayat took the initiative and launched free WiFi hotspots at ten different locations in all the ten wards of the village to help students attend online classes. Pilerne-Marra panchayat is reportedly the first panchayat in Bardez taluka to launch this facility after Pernem taluka. This is a noble cause taken up by these panchayats. Other village panchayats also need to take positive steps and launch free WiFi hotspots in their respective villages. This will go a long way in providing relief to the students as schools will probably not be reopening any time soon. Students on their part should not misuse this service for gaming and other purposes but only for study purposes.
