Pass bills to favour ethnic Goans

Among the many bills the Goa Government should be passing, none seem to (A) prioritise the interests of ethnic Goans ” those with domicile dating back to at least pre-liberation times ” or (B) focus on protecting Goa’s land, environment, fields, hills, forests, and natural heritage.

Instead, every bill passed by the BJP-led Goa Government appears designed to facilitate the takeover of Goan land and homes, enabling the conversion and giveaway of vast areas ” even those marked as non-developable ” to real estate speculators, crony capitalists, and destructive outside interests.

To make matters worse, benefits such as jobs, housing, and land are being extended based on a dubious 30-year domicile criterion, which disproportionately favours non-Goans while marginalising locals.

It’s high time Goans wake up and smell the coffee. We must unite across caste, creed, language, and religion ” the very divisions this government manipulates to push its corrupt and sinister agenda. If we continue to fight among ourselves, we risk becoming strangers in our own land, while our politicians laugh all the way to the bank at our expense.
