There certainly has to be development but not unplanned destructive development fueled by excessive corruption, headed by senior ministers. There are so many scientifically proven was ways for sustainable development but corrupt and careless governance just ignores all of this. Delhi for instance with all the infrastructure appears to be the place where a lot of money has been spent for development but AQI is now perhaps the worst in the world. In Goa, the BJP Govt which keep on boasting about double engine development and now saying triple engine, seems to be totally oblivious to the fact, that the air quality level in Goa has severely worsened during their tenure. Activists are protesting loudly against coal corridor/hub expansion and rampant real estate development in Goa but the government not only turns a deaf ear/harasses people protesting about it, but the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has the audacity to say (at the Liberation Day speech recently) that all Goans have to play their part in addressing the pollution issue. It’s high time people of Goa have to wake up and take a stand This polluting mode of governance must be challenged urgently.
