Poor roads in Benaulim

Light showers over the past two days have washed out the internal road from Kadar supermarket to Micon Coastal Paradise housing society in Benaulim village adding to the misery of pedestrians and vehicles using it. Large potholes have emerged in the stretch which was laid not too long ago and there is water stagnation visible everywhere.  

If this is the case during light rains imagine what the the scenario would be during the monsoons. Why can’t the contractors be held accountable for such lousy work and made to re-lay the roads at their cost, there must be a defect liability period clause in their contract document. I appeal to the government to set things right before matters get worse.

NGT’s fine on GCZMA

Following a complaint filed by the Colva Civic and Consumer Forum, the NGT imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the Goa Coastal Zone management Authority (GCZMA).
