Potholes hallmark of civic authorities

This is with reference to the report, "Potholed roads spark safety concern…… - The Goan Everyday - June 17, 2025." That is certainly a danger spot -- a large pothole on the Canca-Mapusa District road shown in the picture. Looking at such large potholes or craters if one would like to call them, over the years, it now seems normal. Like, nothing to be disturbed about. Human life at stake, that too seems normal. Here in Mumbai too we have got used to this situation. Newly laid concrete roads have cracked within a few months. If a biker skids on a pothole one can blame the rider himself for rash driving. It seems like potholes have become the hallmark of civic authorities.  They have become synonymous with roads. Does anybody care?
