Prince Andrew’s downfall

Prince Andrew, son of the late Queen Elizabeth II, has now lost the use of his “prince” title and will soon move out of his royal residence. This is the latest consequence of his association with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Even without a criminal case against him, Andrew’s links to Epstein caused serious damage to the monarchy’s image. For many years, Andrew enjoyed all the comforts and privileges of royalty but showed little sense of responsibility. His luxurious lifestyle, questionable friendships, and refusal to face public scrutiny suggested entitlement instead of service.

His downfall is a clear reminder of how arrogance and a lack of accountability can bring a heavy price. It is a crisis largely of his own making. King Charles’s decision to remove him from public duties and cut back his privileges was both firm and reasonable.
