Provide permanent dividers on CHOGM road

At long last CHOGM road in Porvorim has now become motorable but dangerous, after receiving the final hot-mix of bitumen.

Motorists now appear to be driving with a vengeance at high speeds, cutting lanes, and overtaking in a rash and negligent manner, making it dangerous for driving as well as for pedestrians to cross.

It is important to remember that CHOGM road is essentially a village road, passing though several villages and residential areas, unlike other National highways.

With the exception of a few metal dividers which are often pushed aside, there are no traffic signals, speed breakers or pedestrian crossings, which makes it very difficult and dangerous for residents to cross.

Under these circumstances, it is imperative for the RTO to provide permanent concrete road dividers along the entire stretch, which will not only safeguard the lives of those crossing the road, but will compel motorists and two wheelers to stick to their respective lanes.

It is hoped that the matter is taken up by the RTO without further delay or much ado.
