Punish those involved in brutal attacks

The two recent reported incidents of brutal violence one in north Goa and the other in south Goa have disturbed the otherwise peaceful  atmosphere in our State.

The reported assaults with rods were so severe that the victims, all Goans, are lying in hospitals undergoing medical treatment for head and leg injuries.

It is the democratic right of an activist or any citizen to question  illegal hill cutting or for that matter any illegality that goes on in the State. 

If for doing so someone feels aggrieved, he should defend his action before the appropriate authority and seek police help if need be. To take law in one's hand and resort to brutal violence is absolutely wrong. 

Such violent acts have no place in our State and the authorities should come down heavily on criminals who break the law and commit such crime.

Tax waivers for hospitality industry?

Gujarat has waived only property tax and fixed charges for electricity for the hospitality industry.
