Quick hospitalisation may have saved hit-and-run victim's life

Last Sunday one Pradip Narvekar of Mapusa succumbed to grievous injuries at GMC due to hit-and -run case. The said accident took place when Pradip riding a two-wheeler was knocked down by a car driven by advocate Milind Desai at Guirim. As per information Pradip was lying for hours on road with head injury in pool of blood but accused driver of car did not bother to take him to hospital and instead fled the scene. The accused then tried to manipulate the case and damaged his car with dent on rear side so as to prove that scooter hit the car from behind. However he was nabbed by Mapusa police and was booked for rash and negligent driving. According to sources Pradip was first taken to Asilo hospital and later shifted to GMC, but if he was taken immediately by the victim to hospital perhaps he would have been saved. However the incident is condemned by locals who say as being an advocate he did not try to save victim's life but tried to safeguard himself first. The law should be equal for all and the accused should be punished as per the law.
