At various locations in Ponda, we come across creepers over the electricity poles. In practise, the maintenance section of electricity department needs to clear the same on regular basis. However, no favourable action comes to the forefront. It would be appropriate to mention some instances in this regard. We come across creepers over the electricity poles along the route leading from the circle at Farmagudi towards the Goa Engineering College as also along the internal road leading from KTC bus terminus towards Farmagudi. One doubts whether the streetlight fixtures behind KTC bus stand function during the night. Even at the adjoining villages of Ponda we come across such instances from time to time. An electricity pole fully covered with creepers near Shree Betal temple at Queula is one such instance. It is absolutely necessary that the creepers are cleared on priority basis so that the maintenance staff of the electricity department can climb the electricity poles whenever need arises for undertaking any maintenance work. Let us hope that the higher officials at the electricity department in Ponda would take a note of this important matter and do the needful at once.
