RTI Act misused to target govt officials

The Right to Information (RTI) Act intended to promote transparency and accountability are sometimes misused for purposes beyond its intended scope to target public officials for personal gains like personal animosity, monetary gains, trying to implicate someone in a case, harassment etc falsely. RTI applications are being filed through proxies. Multiple applications are filed by some people just to harass officials.  It should be curbed by imposing reasonable restrictions. The government should initiate action against those misusing the legislation by targeting officials. The Goa government should initiate action against those misusing the legislation by targeting officials. It should think about steps to limit the misuse of the RTI Act.  Government officials should guard against misuse or abuse of the provisions of RTI Act.
