On Goa’s Statehood Day both President Droupadi Murmu and PM Narendra Modi spoke about Goa’s rich culture as India’s pride and need for its preservation. The reality is the local BJP Goa Government in partnership with the Central BJP govt and crony capitalists and many other wealthy non Goans across the coal, real estate industry are busy destroying, concretizing, polluting Goa and its environment, hills, water bodies, destroying thousand of trees including heritage +300-500 year old trees, forcing thousands of Goans to leave Goa due to massive unemployment, intolerable levels of high corruption; all of which is destroying the very things these leaders are talking about. I request President Murmu and PM Modi to please ensure that the BJP party (Central and Goa) take urgent steps to protect Goa’s culture, heritage instead of just making hypocritical speeches about it.
