It's almost one and half years that schools and colleges in India are closed due to Covid-19 cases. Today we have schoolgoing children at home and also college students not attending class but some have online classes. As of today the cases of Covid have dropped and it's expected to come down. Since cases are on the lower side, schools should reopen for the students of Std X and above. Schools can have two shifts like morning and afternoon session so as to reduce crowding and maintain social distancing. According to Dr Randeep Guleria, Director of AIIMS, schools should start sessions and see that all protocols of Covid behaviour are followed and if there any signs of cases rising they can discontinue physical classes. Many states have prepared to start schools by end of July. Goa should also start carefully with two sessions so that some activity starts as far as curriculum is concerned but must avoid games and PT periods. Many students come to school by buses or school buses, therefore again care must be taken while plying the same with minimum numbers.
