Siolim road widening now affecting stormwater drains

The ongoing road widening on MDR10 in Siolim continues to draw the attention of the concerned public the way the planning has been executed by government officials at the cost of the exchequer. The controversial tree cuttings case is still in the Bombay High Court at Goa, while the PWD Roads has now ventured into road widening without proper plan for the bus bays especially around the schools. Recently I was shocked to see 2 cement pole structures erected right in the middle of the newly constructed stormwater drains which are reduced to hardly a few inches to allow the rain water  to pass through during the monsoons. These works are carried out by the Electricity Department seemingly without applying their engineering skills. I request the Chief Engineer to kindly see that the poles are removed and relocated to another location without disturbing the smooth flow of rain water.
