Square near Cine National will need access to parking

The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) is proposing to make the square, which encloses a triangular portion used by people to chill out and chat near this square where a dilapidated Cine National exists into a pedestrian only area. This is definitely against the interests of the eateries and other businesses in that area, as they would frequent this age old haunt in the city by parking their two wheelers nearby.  Local businesses and popular haunts should not suffer as a consequence of the CCP's decision to convert especially this square into a pedestrian only area. It should be stressed here that this particular area in Panaji has its own old world charm that attracts not only Goans but particularly non-resident Goans as well as politicians. The majority of people in Panjim are against this square being denied access to parking. In light of this fact, the CCP may only spruce up this square but maintain parking facilities considering the popularity that square enjoys and thus maintain access to it as well as providing parking to the clientele of this old world Goan charm square.
