Goa was called the susegad land of friendly speaking and hospitable people but that essence no longer remains and today Goa has become a land of migrant bhumiputras.
Shivers run down the spine every morning when we read in newspaper about murders, rapes, people protesting, kidnappings, robberies, gang lords and anti-social elements who go about their nefarious activities without fear of the law.
Where are the men in khaki who have to keep law and order? Are they likely conniving with the robbers and criminals! There is no safety of life and public property and business shops which are targeted by digging hole in the walls. It is unfortunate also to see that our women and children have no freedom even to relax.
When crimes take place, fingerprint experts, sniffer dogs and CCTV camera are jointly pressed into service to find the crime trail, counterparts are alerted and clue are gathered. Finally due to possible shoddy investigation and incompetency there is no breakthrough and sometimes the blame falls on the victim.
