Under the guise of development, religion, and politics”especially the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue issue”Goa’s harmony is at risk. While Shivaji Maharaj was a great Maratha king, some groups misuse his name to divide people, wasting funds on statues instead of helping the needy.
Is Goa being pushed towards Maharashtra? Is Konkani being sidelined for Marathi? The legacy of Dr Jack de Sequeira and Goa’s freedom fighters is being erased. With tourism declining, all opposition parties must unite, set aside egos, and fight to protect Goa’s future.
