For years former US President Donald Trump has faced off all kind of murky questions about his behaviour from financial irregularities to his handling of classified documents to inciting the Capitol Hill riots in 2021 following his defeat to the current American president Joe Biden. Though the indictment which has been filed under seal has yet to be announced, Trump’s critics fear that this will boost his re-election bid. The development comes five years after it was reported that Trump had arranged a hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels in October 2016 to buy her silence about a sexual encounter she claimed to have had with him in 2006. The payment transaction, which Trump has denied, was allegedly in violation of the poll campaign finance rules as it was falsely recorded under the head, ‘for legal services’. White House has witnessed sex scandals by prominent presidents in the past. Donald Trump may be the first American president to be criminally indicted in a sex scandal, but he is certainly not the first to have the allegations and the disgrace that comes with such affairs.
