Dharmendra, in his illustrious six-decade-long career, acted in nearly 250 films, including Sholay, Chupke Chupke, Pratiggya, Satyakam, Seeta Aur Geeta and Dream Girl. The duo of Jai and Veeru became especially famous, and scenes highlighting friendship or loyalty helped make Sholay a timeless favourite. Dharmendra, who played Veeru, was known by several titles in Bollywood, such as “He-Man” and “Superstar”. His memorable lines from Sholay continue to be recalled even today.
