Vinesh's debacle and sheer negligence of team officials

Sad for Vinesh Phogat and bad luck for India with a possible gold forfeited. Knowing about the weight problem to remain in the 50 kg category and not taking care of it until the last stage shows complete immaturity and negligence not so much on Phogat herself who was obviously concentrating on her bouts and her keenness to compete but her coach and other officials of the wrestling team who were part of the Olympics contingent. Olympics come once in 4 years and the athletes may not get a chance again since their skill and prowess may have gone down by the time the next Olympics come around. And that is why it is important for the athletes and the officials to prepare their wards to give their best in the present event. There has been criticism that there have been more officials than athletes in our sports contingent for any event and even in this Olympics. In any case what has happened has happened and there is no point in crying over spilt milk. Vinesh Phogat would be very disappointed and frustrated but she needs to keep her chin up and look ahead.
