The Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority's primary objective is to protect Goa's coast but the reality is the opposite. Pulled up many times by judiciary for faulty orders/decisions; violation of Supreme Court Orders, multiple residential bungalows with terraces allowed in 200-500m distances from the tide line; mainly to "money bags" from outside the state and so many other CRZ violations, mentioned so many times in the media. The common thread here is there are long standing GCZMA officials who are still standing and untouched by government authorities for prosecution despite all these illegalities and wrong doings. The Goa goverment gives a lot of speeches for protecting the coastline by deceitfully allowing all these corrupt GCZMA officials to do as they please. Hope the courts take up suo moto investigation and action against these tainted officials.
