The KTC is a Government of Goa road transport undertaking and was set up in 1980 with the sole objective to provide safe, reliable, comfortable, effective & efficient transport to Goans.
KTC might have given a big relief for Goans in terms of giving good service but shockingly it is still believed to be running in huge losses.
The main reason behind this is because politicians have not bothered to checkmate the "dadagiri" of all private bus operators.
The private bus operators are always seen plying their buses right during KTC bus timings to force these govt-run buses to run empty on most routes. They don't issue tickets to their passengers and indulge in open loot. Now, under such circumstances, how can one ever expect the KTC to run in profit?
I personally feel the government of the day should immediately take the private bus operators head on, stop entertaining their blackmailing tactics if it really wants the KTC to run in profit in the near future.
