Winds of change seem to be blowing at ZP polls

Goa will elect its new zilla panchayats on December 20 with the state election commission of India announcing the schedule for polls to 50 constituencies across North and South goa. A total of 8.68 lakh voters are eligible to cast their ballots.  There are 9 reserved seats for women, 7 for OBC, 1 for scheduled castes and 1 for scheduled tribes in North Goa. In South Goa, 10 seats reserved for women, 6 for OBCs and 5 for STs. There are a total of 1,284 polling booths, with 658 in North Goa and 626 in South Goa. Voting will be conducted by ballot. A total of 8,68,637 voters will exercise their right on December 20, comprising 420,431 male voters and 448,201 females  During the short election campaign, Congress /Goa Forward Party unity candidates and independent candidates are supported by Goan voters which shows that winds of political change are blowing. In Betki Khandola zilla panchayat constituency local independent candidate Sunil Dharma Jalmi is standing against BJP candidate as outsider BJP MLA had sold local people's land for profit. People are advised not to listen to ruling party fake promises.
