The Supreme Court on Monday has delivered a blistering rebuke on Madhya Pradesh minister Vijay Shah for his 'crass' and 'filthy' comments about Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, a decorated Army officer who gained national prominence for her role in media briefings during Operation Sindoor. Rejecting Shah's apology, the court said that his apology lacked sincerity and has now ordered the formation of a three member SIT to probe the FIR lodged against him. Unfortunately, the Supreme Court has now temporarily stayed the arrest of Vijay Shah in the FIR, which was registered following a suo motu direction by the Madhya Pradesh High Court, subject to the condition that he should join and cooperate with the investigation fully. Well, if the same statement had come from any other party member or minister from a Congress-ruled State then all the top BJP leaders would have created a big "hungama" demanded the immediate sacking of the said minister and would have even sought sedition charges against him. I think that the BJP leaders should sack the above minister, if not get him arrested on sedition charges immediately.
