You cannot run away from football, especially if you are in Goa. And if you’d like to watch a live game of football, today’s a good day.
Goa’s Salgaocar FC takes on Shillong Lajong FC at the Tilak maidan at Vasco, which is located at the end of a 45 minute picturesque drive from the state capital.
Salgaocar FC which is languishing at second from bottom of the league table, needs to put in a good shift in order to climb higher. Meanwhile, their rivals for the next game, Shillong Lajong which is currently at sixth position will look to rise higher in the ranking, even as the league leaders have an impressive 11 point lead on the Meghalaya-based football club.
While Salgaocar FC can claim to have a pedigree of sorts with 19 Goa league wins, one I-league win and several other trophies, Shillong Lajong has had its ups and downs and has often had to fight back from relegation, before coming into the big boy club, the I-League.
If you are a football fan on a holiday here, the game would work out well for you. A little bit of live action never hurts.
