Acharya was speaking at a function organised by Shree Ameya Vidyaprasarak Mandal (SAVM) to felicitate the students of Dada Vaidya High School and Ameya Higher Secondary School at Curti Ponda.
Chairman of the SAVMM Madhav Sahakari, secretary Santosh Kerkar, Principal Flavia Colaco, headmaster Dilip Gaonkar, former teacher and journalist Premanand Shirodkar and others were present on the occasion.
Premanand Shirodkar was felicitated at the hands of Pramod Acharya, while the meritorious students were also felicitated.
Acharya commended the efforts of this institutions which secured hundred per cent result. "The new trend in educational system is very disturbing where admissions are given only to those scoring above 70 per cent. Such institutes will obviously secure hundred per cent result. I am not criticising them. But we should also give some space to weaker section."
He praised the SAVM for giving full attention to the students.
"We go on checking the new updates in social media apps. It is necessary to be connected with updates. We our self should become a good update for society. This will help us to achieve greater heights," added Acharya.
Acharya appealed the student community to pursue their skill and to transform it into career. "Give exposure to your qualities," he said.
Madhav Sahakari also spoke on the occasion. Flavia Colaco read the annual report of the institution. Santosh Kerkar proposed vote of thanks, while Sandeep Shilkar compered the programme.
