Haven’t booked tickets for the Indian Super League finals? No problem. You can still catch the sizzling live match action between FC Goa and Athletico de Kolkata live on supersize screens at several locations across Goa.
With Goa hosting its own home-bred FC Goa team, the 19,000 seats at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru stadium at Fatorda were always going to be less. Watching the final match on big screens is your next best bet, especially since tickets for the grand finale between ISL’s most exciting teams are already done and dusted long ago.
ISL, India's unrivalled football league has planned to organise public screenings at several places across Goa to ensure everybody in the state gets to be a part of India's biggest football party. FC Goa has already extended the ‘big screen’ gesture to its fans and friends, who could not make it inside the match venue and cheer the bustling Gaur.
The public screenings aim to bring the excitement and exuberance of the stadium to the people of Goa. Giant screens will be erected by FC Goa in Vasco and Margao so that fans and supporters can come together and cheer for their favourite team. Most pubs and bars in the state will also screen live matches onscreen without a doubt, especially since it’s a weekend, and fans being fans would love to catch the league’s most exciting match and cheer their team over beer or a beverage of their choice.
But we do have a few hangouts where the game will be shown on big screens, set up specially for the purpose, for sure. Acacia Palms in Colva (0832-2722600) in South Goa for example has the big screen in place for the match and so does Barcode in Porvorim (0832-2410027) along the National Highway “ 17.
