Do you like fighting action? The swinging fists and bone-crunching punches kind. You can watch all this from a safe distance sipping a martini or a chilled beer at the Combat Cage Fight, a fast catching trend of mixed martial arts exhibition fighting at the Destination One in Calangute.
In its second season in Goa, the Combat Cage Fight (CCF) is India’s premier mixed martial arts event which will play out in Goa on December 18 and 19.
Specially chosen 24 mixed martial art fighters, including women fighters, sourced from gyms and martial arts schools across the country will enthrall the audience with their fighting skills against the stunning seafront by Calangute beach, accompanied by music and entertainment belted out by DJs.
According to the organisers Combat Cage Fighting is a safe, regulated, competitive sport that involves a combination of martial arts techniques within the restrictions of a confined space. But the one big plus is that the action comes with a pulsating nightclub experience as bonus.
Goa’s main card entry for the Combat Cage Fight Night on December 18 is fighter Nelson Paes, winner of last year’s big ticket fight.
Also participating are popular fighters Himanshu Kushik and Goa’s Pushkar Bhosle. Returning from last season are Danny Manpola, Suraj Bahadur, Rohit Pundar, Vivek Sharma who will vie for the ultimate title in India’s mixed martial arts scene.
Among the woman fighters is Bharti Pundar, winner of a gruelling bout last season against Goa’s very own boxer Sonia Parab.
The ticketed event is supported by the tourism authorities in Goa and tickets can be purchased on Cleartrip.
