As part of the weekly 'Film for Thought' programme at Sunaparanta, Goa Centre for the Arts, Sachin Chatte will host the screening of the Tamil film 'Kaaka Muttai' (The Crow's Egg) on January 20. The film which became the first by a debut Tamil director to have its world premiere at the 39th Toronto International Film Festival since the festival's inception in 1976, went on to win two national film awards for Best Children's Film and Best Child Artist.

Featuring new comers Vignesh and Ramesh, the Tamil comedy drama which was written, directed and filmed by M Manikandan, who is known for his wedding photography, tells the tale of two slum children who make a living by stealing coal from the railway yard. Their love for stealing and eating crow's eggs, leads them to start calling themselves Crows Egg the Elder and Crow's Egg the Younger. One day they happen to see a TV commercial about pizza and a desire to get a taste of it themselves is born. The film which has music composed by G V Kumar, was finally released worldwide on June 5, 2015 and has received much acclaim. It also received the Audience Award for Best Feature at the Indian Film Festival, Los Angeles.
