Even while phone users are moving to 4G from 3G, phone are already focusing on the next generation of mobile communications - 5G - which is scheduled for a 2020 roll-out.
Going beyond mobile internet connection, this technology has a greater capacity and will allow up to a million connections per square kilometre in coverage. That means smart cities and devices connected to the so-called Internet of Things can be seamlessly supported by these mobile networks.
And compared with 3G or 4G networks, 5G users will have no difficulty connecting to their mobile provider in crowded places, such as in a packed outdoor concert.
