In the hope of encouraging people to go see a real doctor, Cigna, a health insurance company, featuring star actors who have played legendary TV doctors Patrick Dempsey (Grey’s Anatomy), Alan Alda (M*A*S*H), Lisa Edelstein (House), Donald Faison (Scrubs), and Noah Wyle (ER) demonstrating that they would make terrible real-life doctors The video opens during surgery as a nurse hands a scalpel to a doctor, who happens to be Alda. As he takes off his mask, Alda says, “I have no idea what I’m doing, I’m just a TV doctor.” Dempsey then jumps in to add, “I never went to college.” Faison then proves that he’s no Christopher Turk. “And if I had to watch an actual surgery, I’d probably faint,” he says before screaming as he comes across a bandaged patient. “I don’t do blood.” The doctors eventually all come together to share the benefits of seeing a real health professional and are then prompted by Alda to get into their “doctor poses.”
