February is likened to a month of love. But how many of us live up the virtue of love to its truest essence? Seldom are such cases, when couples calmly reason out their differences over trivial issues with mutual trust and understanding.
With Mog Sasnacho, a Konkani love song, Ancy and Alison Gonsalves, the sibling duo from South Goa have come up with a meaningful track that propagates the all-powerful sentiment of love.
Singing for over a decade together, the siblings perform at various gigs under ‘Enchanters Goa’ doing English, Konkani, Hindi and Portuguese songs. They enjoy belting out retro music, country and pop as well. They are also very popular for their cover songs like Girls Like You “ Maroon 5 and mashups like Despacito and Woh Pehli Baar featuring Euban which have been received well on the internet. .
Speaking about their new release, Ancy says, “Mog Sasnacho means eternal love, to infinity and beyond.’ Speaking further on their new track, she reveals that it is not the modern kind of love that is conditional. “It is that kind of love that truly holds on, deepens and gets stronger with every passing day.”
“This is our first composition release. There have been others too, which we have put out for special occasions but this is for everyone to feel the love,” she also mentions.
Her brother, Alison adds, “Mog Sasnacho is a Konkani love ballad. I would say it is inspired by our parents and also a lot of couples around us that stick together despite all the troubles that come their way.”
Incidentally, the music video features a real life old couple in the video, Francis and Ana Dias who have just completed 60 years of marriage. The song which goes into flashback mode also features two new, young and talented actors, Bruno D’Costa and Larika Fernandes. Alison believes the longevity of their marriage is something that their generation could learn from.
The song is written and composed by Alison Gonsalves and sung by Alison and Ancy Gonsalves. The music arrangement is done by Alison with the help from Georgie Dias and Aldrich Fernandes. It is mixed and mastered by Royston Noel. The video team includes Alison Gonsalves, Icston D’Cruz, Fiona Gonsalves and Seidon Pereira.
