Ae Dil Hai Mushkil
Direction: Karan Johar
Cast: Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Fawad Khan
Ayan (Ranbir Kapoor) falls in love with his soulmate, Alizeh (Anushka Sharma), but she doesn’t reciprocate the feeling. Later, a relationship with Saba (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) helps him realize Alizeh’s value in his life, irrespective of their relationship status.
The first half of the film, however, tires you out what with Ranbir and Anushka's juvenile antics, "fully filmy" dialogues and endless partying. The second half is more real (this is where the rest of the cast makes an appearance) and you begin to understand the storyline and put things in perspective.
Ranbir has, of course, nailed the friend-zoned, broken lover act, while Anushka is a delight as the bubbly girl who breaks down when in pain.
All about accepting ‘I Friend You’ over ‘I Love You’, KJo's latest film deals with the complexities and blurred lines between love and friendship, the fact that the former cannot be manufactured and trying to decipher what it is about love that destroys an individual so easily
It is definitely his most 'real' film till date. And while the relationship drama looks real and magnificent, the dialogue is great, it has some awesome actors (keep your eyes peeled for some surprise cameos) and some truly amazing background score, the storyline drags on a bit much (especially in the last 25 minutes) and could certainly have been wrapped up in just under two hours.
