Yesterday new broke out that Shankar Mahadevan was hospitalised a day back after suffering two back-to-back heart attacks. He was admitted to the ICU ward of the Delhi hospital after he complained of severe chest pain. His son Siddharth told the media, “It was mainly due to exhaustion. Dad underwent angioplasty on the first day itself when he was hospitalised. Thankfully, there weren’t any major blockages. He is recuperating well and the doctors said he would be discharged within a day or two.”
The singer’s upcoming performances in Rajkot and Mumbai were cancelled due to his health. The singer was last seen performing at Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s daughter Sonali’s sangeet on Saturday night, after which he felt unwell.
