French Martiniquecan singer Erika Lenort releases her album ‘Le Voyage’ which is a collection of songs about courage and happiness at a concert at the popular Riverside Restaurant, above Down the Road, Rua de Qurem, Panaji at 7:30 pm today evening.
The French singer will be accompanied by musicians Aurelian Lisse, Romain Timmer and Michel Francois M Ba N Guema.
Erika over the years has performed as a chorist for several topnotch artists all across the world, before finally taking the plunge and starting her own musical project.
‘Le Voyage’ is a perfect mix of all the wealth of musical influences that she has nurtured over the years. From West Indies to Africa, the insane rhythms of Cape Verde to the soulful melodies of childhood, the groove on one side, sensitivity on the other this is a journey of the heart for a music of the soul, that you are invited to discover.
For several years now, Erika has been travelling the world. Her fortunes changed after a chance meeting with Siam Lee, her composer and guitarist, opened avenues to Africa, Cape Verde, Brazil and Asia.
Erika is of Martinican origin and has grown up with World music, chanson française, jazz and soul.
