A few years ago, a make up artist in Punjab approached Jazpreet Kaur and expressed her desire to be a part of the beauty pageant which Kaur was training girls for in Punjab. A shy village girl, the Punjabi put in sheer dedication and hardwork while preparing for the show. Today, she represents India at many beauty pageants.
“This kind of transformation and the respect women earn, is what we work for through these beauty pageants and training conducted by Aster Fine Arty Education,” says Kaur, the founder of Mrs India I am Powerful and Director at Aster Fine Arty Education.
Kaur will be organising the first edition of Mrs India 2018 I am Powerful in Goa on May 13-15, 2018 at Cidade de Goa, Dona Paula.
The winners of this contest will them go on to participate at the world’s five International pageants namely Tourism, Pacific, Noble Queen, Global Universe and International Queen.
Kaur, who won the Mrs Asia International 2014 India -Charming Face in 2014, states that this beauty pageant focuses more on individual qualities rather than background. There is no criterion set for selection and entries upto the age of 55 years have been included. There are no categories based on age groups in this competition.
“We don’t want any woman to be left out because of her height, her complexion etc. This platform will serve all women uniformly to prove to themselves that they are powerful,” she says.
Auditions for the beauty pageant were conducted in various parts of the country since November 2017 including Goa.
The team organising the Mrs India I am Powerful beauty pageant comprises of Regional Directors from different parts of the country, who have hosted auditions in regions allotted to them and selected the 30 entries who will compete for the coveted title.
This year one international entry has been included where the participant is a native of Kolkata but now resides in Muscat.
The winners will be judged by six-seven jury members that includes Urooj Khan Mrs Asia Pacific Intercontinental and noted actress Varsha Usgaonkar among others.
There are no registration charges for the event. The grooming for the show is provided in house by the resource persons at the Aster Fine Arty Education.
Although this is the first edition of Mrs India I am Powerful, Kaur has the experience of organising many such beauty pageants not just for married women but also for men and teens. like Colors Femina Miss India and Mr India, Miss Diva, Gladrags Mrs. India, Mrs Asia International and Mr and Miss Gladrags Megamodel Mr/Miss/Mrs/Teen Global India.
And she is is all excited about the upcoming event. “I want the ladies to enjoy their time during the event. They have always been there for their family members and this is time they stand for themselves,” she says. Another interesting thing that they have come across during these events is that these ladies always make it a point to thank their husband and family members for their support. “This is a very positive gesture towards binding families together and expressing their love and gratitude towards each other,” she says.
