While there is a wide range of things and activities to do for children in Goa, often special children are lost out in the race for similar options. This dearth of things often leads to more frustration and isolation amongst special children.
But there’s good news around the corner.
Casa Dos Gamas in Verna is hosting an event for parents and teachers of children with special needs where they can learn yoga, art and music teaching skills, which they can in turn impart to their wards.
The classes will be conducted by artist Sofia Badyari. The classes teach parents and teachers of special children to use music as a therapeutic tool.
Sofia Badyari is a professional fine artist and an amateur photographer. She indulges in illustrations for books and works with multiple media, acrylics, papercrafts, oils, watercolours, pen, ink and charcoal. She also designs custom handmade polymer clay jewelry and handmade tapestry and quilts.
Casa dos Gamas is a restored structure which houses a centre for adults and kids with special needs, a cafe and an art space.
