Konkani Bhasha Mandal (KBM) will be organizing its annual ‘Shenoi Goembab story telling competition’ on August 19. This is the 18th year of the competition. The district and final rounds of the competition will be held on August 25 in Margao.
The competition is organised at 17 centers across Goa which includes 12 centers in 12 talukas and five additional centers in Margao, Ponda, Cuncolim, Porvorim and Panaji. The necessity to increase the centers has aroused due to large number of participants from these two talukas. One of the biggest competitions in the state, more than 150 judges and 250 plus volunteers will be working together to make this competition a success.
The competition will be held in three categories - 1-4, 5- 7 and 8- 10 standards. There are no restrictions on subject, however the time allotted to different categories is different. For 1-4 - 2 it is four minutes, 5-7, it is three to five minutes and 8-10, it is four to six minutes. In order to give more representation to the performers at state level competition for the centers where the participants are in large numbers, the judges may select more winners for every additional 15 participants.
