Australian model and beauty entrepreneur Miranda Kerr confirmed her engagement to billionaire Snapchat co-founder Evan Spiegel by posting a photo of her latest piece of jewellery to her 9 million fans. Kerr's intention to marry her new tech billionaire beau is a subtle marketing message showcasing Snapchat's latest features. And she did it on Instagram, where there are more than 400 million active users, as Spiegel's app isn't designed to let users broadcast information to the general public, so if you don't follow her you wouldn't have seen it.
Recently the app launched "memories" “ the ability to upload an image from your phone's photo album, which Kerr did, evident by the time stamp above the black and white photo of the couple's hands captioned, "I said yes". Think the cartoon likeness of the pair also captured in the frame is cute? Indeed it is, but it's also a high-profile demonstration of Bitmoji, a company that creates personalised emoji that Snapchat acquired in March for about $100 million.
