Game of Thrones pretty much dominated the Emmy Awards 2016 becoming the most decorated television show in Emmy history with a record 38 wins. And right from former Friends star Matt Le Blanc courting controversy when he stated that he wants to catch with the show just so he can see Emilia Clarke naked, to the Emmy organisers spelling Kit Harington's name wrong, the GoT stars also created quite a buzz on their own. But one of the most interesting parts of the night was Sphie Turner showing off her new GoT tattoo finally. The actress who plays Sansa Stark on the show and Maisie Williams who plays Arya Stark got matching tattoos which relates to the hit show. The tattoo reads 07.08.09, which refers to the date when the two of them found out that they were going to be part of the hit HBO series.

When asked what prompted them to get their tattoos now, Turner joked about the show’s trend of killing off its main characters. “We don’t know if we’re going to make it, so Maisie and I were like let’s get these ones before anyone kills us,” she said.

Sophie and Maisie aren't the first celebrities to get similar tattoos. Here's a look at a few other stars who chose to sport matching inks

Drake and Rihanna

The couple have been in the news ever since Drake's public declaration of love at the MTV Video Music Awards. And while RiRi initially played it coy, the couple have since been pretty open about their love for each other and have taken their relationship to the next level with matching tattoos of a shark. According to a source, the tattoo - which RiRi has on her ankle - is a reference to a date they went on to the Toronto aquarium, where he treated her to a stuff toy of a shark. Drake in the meanwhile has got the shark inked on his right arm.

Nick Jonas and Joe Jonas

Before taking the stage seperately for the recent MTV Video Music Awards ( Joe Jonas won the Nest New Artist along with his DNCE band members while Nick performed his latest single Bacon), the brothers decided to get matching arrow tattos on the back of their arms that point at one another. In back-to-back videos, Nick captured the process of the tattoo, showing both himself and Joe getting inked while lying on a chair as the artists drew the arrows on their triceps on Snapchat. Nick then shared a photo of the final outcome, showing the brothers standing side-by-side with their backs to the camera, revealing their ink and writing "Boom" across the pic.

Beyoncé and Jay Z

Beyonce and Jay Z got matching tattoos of the roman numeral IV on their ring fingers. The number holds significance to them as Beyonce's birthday is September 4, Jay Z's is December 4, and they were married on April 4. In one interview the 'Countdown' star told a reporter that she had the inking made as she knew she wouldn't always be wearing her wedding band as it is "private".

One Direction

While none of them initially sported any tattoos, most of the band members of One Direction have all succumbed to the lure of the ink barring Niall Horan. Back in 2012, the band which is now on a hiatus decided to get similar tattoos of screws on their ankles. “They're just crosses, the screws which keep you together. I suppose it's a keep you ground thing. Keep your feet on the ground,” revealed Liam. Niall however opted out.

Miley Cyrus and Wayne Coyne

Miley Cyrus and Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne. Miley and Wayne both have mini-robots on their inner right forearms. The robot is the cover art from The Flaming Lips’ 2002 album Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots.

Ed Sheeran and Harry Styles

Singers Ed Sheeran and Harry Styles decided to seal their bromance by getting matching Pingu tattoos after discovering that they both loved the same British cartoon character named Pingu as kids. While Ed has the actual penguin tattooed on his arm, Harry just has the word "pingu" tattooed. Apart from this Sheeran also gave Styles a tattoo (a mini padlock on his wrist) in 2013.
