It’s about that time of the year when most men in Goa start planning a trip to the tailor to get their suits stitched in time. We say ‘most’, because we all know that someone who will wake up on December 15 and then expect the tailor to do a rush job on his suit. If you haven’t started planning yet you better get to it, considering the amount of suits that need to be made and the waiting time involved. It’s best you start working out your look and your colours ASAP. Brown and its many shades are making a comeback for guys. Here are a few colours, for shirts, ties, and pocked squares, to help you on your way. We also threw in a nice style option for you ‘always trendy’ fellows out there.
Copper
At the fashion weeks in Milan, London and New York, among others, while there was a strong representation of your traditionally autumnal navies, blacks, greys and dark greens, the colour that really stood out at the shows was copper. Replenish your stocks of the rich, orangey-brown shade now. Slightly weathered shades of orange and copper become a must-have “new neutral,” especially for cozy tailored clothing and a sweater if you can find a good one. A nice copper tie on a dark grey suit with a similar pocket square to match can certainly change the way that girl you like will look at you. A nice copper kurta is really cool too!
Burgundy
There’s nothing like a dark burgundy wine while you’re swapping stories at a soiree, oh wait, we’re not talking about alcohol here. Burgundy also emerged as one of the colours for the season. It goes with both black or grey suits. In fact, if you want to buck the trend and get a good brown or ginger jacket and throw it over blue jeans for that funky semi-formal look, a nice burgundy shirt would do wonders for your look. Get a pair of nice coloured socks to complete it. If you are feeling adventurous, then try this, get a nice pair of burgundy pants. It’ll go well with brown shoes, and greys, blacks, whites and even a very dark blue when it comes to shirts or layers. Not that you will need too many layers here in Goa.

For your neck
Forget about big wooly or cotton scarves, neckerchiefs are the new way to protect your neck this cold season. This trend was seen more on the Paris catwalks, but there was plenty of representation in London and Milan too. To be bang-on trend, look out for something in a cotton-silk mix busting with pattern and colour - or simply tie on a bandana and let its tails hang loose over your jacket or pullover.
