Nature's Furry

The angry rain,

Pours down incessantly,

Adding untold misery,

The furious rivers in spate,

What have they done to deserve,

Such vicious hate?

Those unaffected,

In safe corners stand,

Those by floods are marooned,

The fortunate few,

In homes cocooned,

Each in their comfort zone.

Everything taken by thewaters,

Homes, fields, cars andtractors,

Livestock, cattle and plough,

And their love ones near and dear,

Hopes of tomorrow,

Buried in Myers of sorrow.

For the rich and famous,

In skyrising towers,

Undaunted by rainy showers,

Up and down in elevators,

They don't even notice,

The woe of others.

This is not just a poem,

But a plea to us all,

To evoke kindness andsympathy,

More so our empathy,

To lessen the pain,

Of those devastated by the rain.
