More trains lined up for transporting around 23K migrants

MARGAO: With around 23,000 migrants from Uttar Pradesh expected to head to their native state, the government is bracing up to ferry these migrants on several trains. The process started from Tuesday.

While the first two trains to Gorakhpur and Faizabad and Maharajgang, Sant Kabir and Kushinagar have left for UP, the administration is bracing up for a massive operation to send the migrants back to their native state.

Special Additional Collector North, Shashank Tripathy, IAS, informed that around 23,000 migrants from Uttar Pradesh have expressed their willingness to leave for their native state.

Another senior official, Sanjeev Dessai, Special Additional Collector, South, said the administration is in the process of arranging around 10-12 trains on different dates, which will transport the UP migrants to their home state.
