Exactly five years ago, the then leader of the BJP was going around India trumpeting loud and clear, as to how terrorism, naxalism, anti-nationalism and separatism was growing menacingly in India. With his powerful oratory skills he questioned and ridiculed the Congress and then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the UPA government of those years-2009 to 2014. Modi asked as to why India was subjected to the bitter scourge of violent attacks not only from within by Naxalites but also regular killings of our armed forces and the jawans manning the sacred borders of our country. Importantly, Modi was extremely curious and rather foxed as to how militants, especially from Pakistan, and PoK were so easily able to enter into India, live here amongst our people and plan a strategy along with our Indian population, for a terrorist strike, not only in the rural areas of our country, but also in the highly educated and economically strong urban India consisting of Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad and other cities.
Modi clearly asserted that the world’s largest army, navy and Airforce, Coast guard were totally under the control of the UPA Prime Minister, Home Minister and the Defence Minister. If so, why terrorism and separation was not brought under control? Knowing fully the physical and the economic strength of India, terrorism should have vanished from our country said Modi.
Blaming PM Singh fully for the alarming growth of terrorism and the regular killing of our jawans within the India borders, Modi raised five major questions and offered quick and easy solutions too, to end the imported ills emanating and originating from Pakistan primarily.
The first question and answer posed and delivered by Modi was that guns, weapons, bombs and military explosives were coming to India from Pakistan, and not made in India. Therefore, he asserted that our army, navy along with our aerial surveillance, under a strong government would be enough to stop the porous border. Modi pleaded with the Indian public to make him the “Chowkidar” to stop terrorism.
The second question posed by Modi was how the UPA-II was unable to stop and starve terrorists of funds in terms of rupees or dollars. During his speeches over five years ago, Modi told the people of India, that Ministry of Finance was under the Control of the Congress party hinting at Sonia Gandhi allegedly directing the PM what to do or not. He went further to assert that RBI, all the banks, nationalized, private sector banks as well foreign banks were totally under the control of the Govt of India and with the strict foreign exchange regulations of our country then, how were the terrorists coming from Pakistan able to live a life of luxury, comfort, plan and operate finance within our country?
Making a case for himself as PM, Modi said to India, “give me power and I will give India security.”
Coincidentally, Modi during his regime now not only killed India by his thoughtlessly implemented demonetization scheme but introduced notes of Rs 2000 which terrorists find easy to handle, hide and operate.
The third question, and answer delivered by Modi was on the aspects of telecom sector and intelligence operations by our Defence, Home and PMO of our country.
How come, Modi, questioned; when India has advanced satellite tracking systems, methods of call interceptions, call recordings and the world’s premier institutions like the RAW that Manmohan Singh was unable to throttle and curb the movements of the terrorists? Modi promised India, that his BJP government if voted to power, would carry out surgical strikes as he would have “maximum governance and minimum government”.
Ironically, what we today see is Modi harassing Indians with tighter fiscal control by linking Pan Cards to Aadhar Card and curbing the withdrawal of money from our own savings, besides spying on us.
The fourth question, which Modi posed to Singh prior to 2014 was as to why with all the power under his command; be it the coastal security, border security, police and para military services and along with a strong judicial system; militancy and acts of terrorism were still flourishing and blooming across the country and spreading like wild fire.
The final jhumla of Modi was his fifth question as to why black money and black terrorists, who have escaped from India, were not brought back to our country, tried here in India and hanged immediately.
As per international laws Modi thundered, a terrorist or even black money stashed abroad could easily be brought back as per International Law and Regulations. “Give me power and I will deliver,”he had said.
India now knows that Modi was given power by idiots amongst us. Since then, has Modi brought back even a single terrorist? To make things worse, Modi has been unable to bring back economic offenders like Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, etc. Can we now ask Modi the same five questions which he asked of Dr Singh and seek to know why he failed to implement his own answers to the five questions he raised over five years ago?
How did the worst of the acts of terrorism happen when you were in power?
Today, digital India is a flop, farmers’ suicides have grown and skill India has become Kill India, as unemployment is surging high as ever. Even the slogan should be changed to ‘Sab Ka Saath aur Amir Ka Vikas.’
As Modi rightly asserted 5 years ago, India has to take its internal defence system very seriously and stop incursions from across the borders.
For Modi, he has achieved absolutely nothing to alert and sensitise our armed forces into seeking eternal vigilance. Enough is Enough. Indians want concrete results from realistic drawn plans and actions.
The era of slogans, rhetoric and jhumlas does not seem to regale and entertain Indians anymore. Stop crying wolf, and conquer the enemy within, which is your over confidence, ego and undermining the intelligence of the people of India.
India now needs an ‘Imandar Chowkidar’ and not a ‘Jhumledar’ one.
